I started Crash Lab because the body shop that used to be in this building went under with my cars inside. I'm a project manager by trade. I built this place on the principles of real project management: communication, accountability, and a warranty that doesn't expire.

Why I Built This Place
Built My Way.
I started Crash Lab because the body shop that used to occupy this exact building went under with two of my cars inside it. They sat there for two years. I lost the money I'd already paid them. I never got the work. That's not a marketing setup. That's how I got here.
I started leasing this building in 2024. The customers from the old shop weren't mine on paper, but their cars were sitting in the back and the prior owner was gone. We worked with each of them to finish what had been started. That cost me close to $90,000 I never got back. Most of those cars have gone home. A couple of custom builds are still here. So are mine.
What I learned from that experience: it wasn't just one bad shop. The whole industry was running the same broken model. Cars sat. Customers got spun. Communication didn't exist. Whether you were a self-pay customer or running through insurance, the work was inconsistent and a lot of shops were taking shortcuts to save themselves time and money. Cheap parts. Skipped procedures. Repaints when replacement was the right call.
I'm a project manager by trade. The job is accountability. You communicate. You're transparent. You hit your timeline. You stand behind your work. KISS principle, plain English, modern tools. None of that existed in the body shop world. So I built one that does, and partnered with Rae who brings forty-plus years of body shop expertise to make sure the work matches the discipline.
At Crash Lab we answer to you. The insurance company comes second. If we think your car needs an OEM bumper and your carrier wants to write it as aftermarket, we go to the mat for you. We file the supplement. We make the case. Most of the time we win it. When we don't, we give you the option to upgrade to OEM at our cost, not retail. People over profits. Same approach for every car, whether it comes in from down the street or from one of the other South OC cities we serve.
Today Crash Lab is I-CAR Gold Class certified, a credential held by fewer than 10% of body shops nationwide. Our techs train every year. We use OEM parts whenever the carrier covers them and whenever they're available. When they're not, we give you the choice with full transparency on cost. Every repair is backed by a true lifetime warranty: parts and labor, for as long as you own the vehicle.

If your insurance is trying to write your estimate at aftermarket parts and we think you need OEM, we'll tell you. If we find more damage when we tear into the repair, we'll tell you the second we know. If something we promised isn't going to happen on the schedule we promised, we'll tell you before you have to ask. The hardest conversations are the most important ones.

Letting a chain shop fix a car you love is like letting Jiffy Lube rebuild a Patek Philippe. They'll get something back together. You're going to feel it forever. Your advocate with insurance
Insurance companies have an entire department dedicated to writing estimates for the cheapest possible repair. Most shops answer to that department because that department pays the bills. We answer to you. We file supplements, negotiate, and escalate. We've gotten plenty of OEM-parts approvals from carriers who initially said no. When the carrier won't budge and you want OEM, we give you the option to upgrade at our cost, not retail. People over profits.
