What gets done
Every paint job starts with a spectrophotometer reading off the closest undamaged panel. The reading drives our paint mixer, not a generic factory code, because factory codes drift over the life of a vehicle: sun, dealership touch-ups, regional clearcoat differences. Reading from the actual panel is what makes the repair invisible.
On metallic and pearl finishes, we blend across at least one neighboring panel. A direct spray match still reads as different in side light because the metallic flake orientation never quite lines up. Blending is the difference between a repair you can spot at a parking-lot glance and one you can't find with a flashlight.
Why the clearcoat matters
South Orange County is hard on paint. UV at altitude, salt off the coast, irrigation overspray near the canyons — all of it eats clearcoat. We use OEM-grade clears that match the durability rating of your factory finish. Cheap shop clears save 40% on materials and fail at year three. Ours doesn't.
How it ships back to you
Wet-sanded, polished, and inspected under both daylight and shop lighting before delivery. If the match isn't right under any lighting condition, it goes back into the booth. You don't see it leave the shop until it's right.
